She's in.

They run.

They don't smoke.

Few niggles to sort out.

Lorna is a star!
Which way does your rudder tab go?

Yes, she is.

Rudder tab is on stbd side and is angled outwards, I can't exactly remember which way yours is now, I'll pop round one evening and see.

On left hand rotating props (looking forward) the tab will stick out to starboard.

The props go the other way on a Swordsman because they have reduction boxes.
So the tab should stick out to the port.

The above assumes that both props go the same way. On contra-rotating props, the tab is not needed.

Just successfully sea trialled on Southampton Water.

35 knots one way, 36 the other.

Need to calibrate tacho's which is planned for this coming weekend when Scott P brings his optical tacho, but I think she's under propped.

To finally close out this years efforts, Scott Pett kindly brought his optical tacho to the concours, within a few minutes we had the port one calibrated at idle and checked at 1800, set the stbd tacho at the same calibration and it proved to be spot on.

Coming home today, 1600rpm gave 22 knots, so as a cruise point we've gained 2 knots and dropped 300rpm, very nice and relaxed, much quieter and no diesel/oil/water/coolant or turbo boost leaks!

Full throttle gives 35 knots at 2700, they should be prop'd to achieve 2500, so as I suspected she's under prop'd, I'll see how it goes, but a lightly loaded diesel is a happy diesel and I don't feel much need to do any more than 35 knots in the old girl.

The observant among you will have noted the the title of this post says a new loo, this is now installed, complete with a thingybob in the flush water pipe which has a blue loo disinfectand block, nice clean fresh smelling heads for us!

Late start to the season, but what a way to start.
