Day 1 of Huntsman restoration.
Posted: Thu Jul 02, 2020 8:53 pm
So, today I became the proud owner of Sabre Knight, a Huntsman 31 and managed to spend an hour on board with a joiner and diesel mechanic making a rather comprehensive list of jobs to do.
The good
Engines in good condition
No rot in hull
Deck fully repaired and re-caulked this year
Watertight
The Bad
Owner left a heater on and set fire to the galley headlining
Heads are stripped bare and ply walls are rotten
Wiring is suspect
Batteries are dry
Work starts this weekend weather dependent with a view to getting in on Windermere by the end of August.
Watch this space.
