Week 1 progress Huntsman 31

Post by FrankS »

I’ve managed around 20 hours on Sabre Knight this week and thankfully the weather has been ok to work outside.
The previous owner had recaulked the decking, replaced all the screws and capped them so I decided to start with the deck and removed the toe rail and have had a new one fabricated from teak enabling me to sand the deck all the way to the edge.
Cabin beading has all been removed and again I’ll have new beading machined and re-sealed as water has ingressed over the years.
Cockpit wood and side rails have been stripped back to bare wood ready for re-sealing next week.
Rear damage has been epoxied ready for filling, new moulding and paint.
