New to the FOC I just wanted to share with you all my recent purchase. I found her on the Hamble looking rather sorry for herself. She's one of only 3 Talisman 25s made. This Hull being Hull number 3 and built in 1996. Designed by Lorne Campbell on an Alan Burnard hull I've finally been given the nod from Charles Lawrence that she has a place within the Fairey family. I've been a lover of the Fairey boats all my life and never been in the financial position to buy my dream of a Huntsman. However, this little beauty that I've had my eye on finally came up for sale this summer and I had to buy it. Since then I've spent many hours on restoration and now she's finally back in the water. Powered by a single Mercury Mercruiser 250hp 4.2ltr D-Tronic turbo diesel on shaft. Its only done 152 hours... And with a cruise of 18knots and top of 30knots, I am looking forward to stretching her legs in the spring. Many thanks for letting me share this rare little boat with you.
All the best Matt

How amazing to see another example of AB’s fertile mind. Incidentally, “Galloping Ghost” was an incredibly successful racing P51 Mustang, which came to grief at Reno a few years ago. Be careful about the footage you watch on the internet, as it’s quite sad stuff.
My boat is named after that P51 funny enough. I was actually there on that day when it crashed less than 80ft in front of the grandstand where I was seated. I was only only talking to Jim an hour before his last flight. Unfortunately 4 of the people that died in the crowd were also friends of mine. I've always wanted a boat called the Galloping Ghost since to keep their memories alive as a mark of respect. Sometimes there is more to a name than meets the eye. Appreciate your kind words too. Merry Christmas to all.
A Sad Tale behind a name, , but what great looking boat, can we have some more pics please ? Very impressed that you have mastered the picture posting which completely alludes me !!
