Fuses for Seafarer RT 650

Post by Tom Wright »

This is an old 12v RT but still seems to work. I do not have the manual and wonder whether anyone may know the fuse I should put in the circuit. I have tried a 2amp fuse but it blows when transmitting. It would indicate that 2 amps is not enough but I do not want to risk damage by blindly putting in a stronger fuse. Is there someone who may be familiar with this model and can advise me?

Many thanks

Tom

Tom,
Is a 25 watt set, div by 12 volts so need 2.1 amps.
Bit of power lost in the set so I would used 4 or 5 amp fuse.

Alex.

Many thanks gentlemen.

You are right, it needs 5 amps when transmitting and a 6.3 amp fuse is recommended, so that is what I habe put inand I am able to transmit. The set is not very clear though, perhaps its on its way!
