hull polish on phantom

Post by nickkieffer1 »

I had the hull polished this weekend on the phantom it has made a real difference nice and white now .
Just need to paint the cavetto line and fit new fairey badges who do i need to email to purchase them. The super structure will be a different story I fear but must be positive and think all will be well. An MYC
member was down at the club this weekend he said that his long time friend was down with him recently
a certain Mr Cadbury who was suprised to the the boat in the yard . He would be most welcome to have a look over the next time he is down . In spite of a couple of nasty cuts on the hands boat progress has been steady saloon heads and galley are well on the way to completion , new aft cabin windows are back ready to fit when wood work on frame is finished. all teak work is now back at home being stripped and re varished headlining and window paneling is cut and ready for covering. still planning for launching in mid April unless we all get locked in again. Hi Nick

If you are talking about the 'flying wing' with a scolloped rear, I can send you a full size profile of that, which could be used as a profile for self adhesive pvc...

That would be helpful as there is not one on the cabin side I also need the bow Fairey badge as the ones on the boat are a bit damaged. The fairey site requests i use email account that I dont have to complete an order . Nick

My caveata line is done with blue tape and looks really sharp. It's an important feature. It is also very glossy, better I think than brushed paint could achieve.
Sounds like good progress.

The hull polisher said that a stripe may be best i had to rub it down and remove all the over paint that had gone outside of of the recess and wobbled up and down the length of the hull . took quite a long time to get right.Another suggestion was to "wrap" the blue on the cabin sides only concern with this is damage from fender/ropes etc causing scratches on the vinyl .
