This is my report to the AGM of the Club which I regret I cannot attend this year.
We have seen increased activity in 2022 with more Fairey boats and more events and a summary list of successes includes:
* kick-off lunch in January in Woodbridge
* Classic Boat 2022 award, Overall Winner for Restored Power Vessel, Huntsman 28 'Flower Power' owned by Josh Major
* in June, an increasing number of Fairey boats - and wooden classic power-boats from other marques - took part at the Suffolk Yacht Harbour annual Regatta
* at that event, James Johnson won the Club's 'Boat of the Day' award with his Spearfish 'Spear Dancer' visiting from Lincolnshire
* also, Lewis Culf won the Regatta's 'Fast Motor Boat of the Day award' with his Huntsman 28 'Seaspray'
* creation of a Fairey Suffolk WhatsApp group for communication
* which led to several informal weekend 'get-togethers' over the summer as owners used their Fairey boats to explore the local area
* in August, communication with the Atalanta Owners Association was initiated as several of these yachts from various Eastern Ports sailed to Cowes for the Uffa Fox commemorative event
* planning a local laying up event this Autumn.
In essence, the Eastern Ports region of the Fairey Owners Club went from strength to strength in 2022 at no cost to the Club.
Contact me if you wish.
