Post by Spectrum Too »

Anyone have a source for 24 volt stepped chargers suitable for shore support and with a capacity of 25/30 amps?

Hi Scott. Thanks for yur reply. My existing charger is a Pro Mariner (built in the USA and sold somewhere here in about 1999 to the last owner of Spectrum Too. Sterlings are the UK agents but they have said they cannot repair it. Surely anything is repairable? They just offered me 10% off a Sterling product. So I am not too inclined to put money their way.

Regards, Mike

Unwillingness to repair stuff usually translates to: too expensive to repair. The trouble with alot of complicated stuff these days is that it's likely to have a computer in it.

At Pete Foulke's yard on the Hamble is a chap called Paul. He drives the crane and boat transporter, but if I remember correctly he has been known to fix the unfixable, usually radars and autopilots, so maybe a 24 volt charger won't be impossible. If he can't then he might know someone who can.

gotta be worth a try.

When he's fixed yours, let me know becuase the charger in my motorhome blew up recently...
