Fairey Delta FD2

Post by ian e »

Sad git that I am yesterday morning I found myself on a bus outside the airbus factory at Filton nr Bristol. Having been in Bristol on Friday night for my firms Xmas knees up I booked a trip to look over the last Concorde that ever flew worth a look if anyone is in the area. See www.concorde@filton.co.uk for £12.50 you get a guided tour around the factory of sorts and then the chance to look over the plane and take as many pics as you like. Part of the talk given by the volunteer included a mention of the FD2 and I wondered if I was the only other person present who knew what he was on about. The long term objective is to house the plane in a purpose built aviation museum in the area and any money raised in these guided tours is going to help this cause. To the un initiated Concorde was built at Filton.
