Just a follow up, Charleston launched in March, twin Perkins M265ti with ZF220A drop angle boxes, not for the feint hearted, I dropped off the engines and boxes (Geoff Alchorn rebuilt, many thanks) to Lancing Marine , they married the whole lot together and installed new Bowman's etc etc. my pal Keith and I set up in Christmas 2022 with Telehandler etc to install, gave up and despatched the boat to Fairey Marine to install and finish in Feb 23. A very very smart move, yes it does bring the engines nearer level BUT alignment and engine mount location completely changes and quite frankly a very long and tedious job !! But does it make a difference? No idea, I have never owned or driven a twin engined boat (apart from a twin 60 Humber 18ft 30 odd years ago) least of all on shafts , but she trundles up the river in a dead straight line at 6 knots, but wanders to stbd after approx 16 knots at sea , so in a nutshell don't try unless you have a stack of engineering skills at hand !!
