What are peoples experience in anti fouling props. We are in Birdham Pool that has rampant coral worm. The hull has been antifouled and we hoped regular use would keep the props clean. We have dropped from 18knts to 10 and lots of black smoke. Velox seems to have been banned in the uk.
We need a quick application while its in the slings.
It is going to be a slow trip on CTC rally at 10knts!

Re: Stern Gear Anti fouling
Jonathan,
if leaving the props paint free has left them covered in coral worm, then trying antifouling probably can't hurt. Out of interest, I did look at a product said to reduce friction - can't remember the name but was being advertised in Maritime Journal as a miracle paint for props and hulls. The £3-5k cost for a Spearfish hull and no guarantee (especially on a boat doing more than 8 knots) put me off.

Ask around in Birdham what other people have had success with.
Pains me to say it, but I think with antifoul the more you pay the better the result.
