Several (many?) of Uffa Fox's dinghy designs were made by Fairey Marine before they produced power boats.
Today, 50 years after his death, a Celebration starts in Cowes with many of his designs represented.

Lovely display, several Fairey boats.
Bumped into Chris Barker and had a lovely chat.

Sorry I missed you Ben - I had a busy few days as the Flying 15s are gearing up for their European Championship AND the Atalantas were in town. I even berthed up with them, a great group of guys. I've now done enough hours on the engines that the boat can go back for the first service - at the same time Adam the chippie will put in the new rear boxes on the engine covers - the exhausts get in the way of the old ones and then I should be properly ready to go. RoNeY worked hard as a media boat - late on the Sat afternoon it was F5 gusting 6, with the tide starting to ebb into it so pretty lumpy out there and though we got a tad wet, she handled it far better than I could have hoped for!
