thermostats

Post by nickkieffer1 »

Has anyone run ford motors without thermostats . Had the usual hassle with bleeding air out of the mermaid engines
had the same trouble with floating charge . You think it is all done and temps rise and water comes out of the filler caps
it usually takes a couple of tries. A fitter from mermaid said that they sometimes do not even fit the thermostats
for this reason .Nick

Are you talking about the external Amot stats or the one under the header tank.
If the latter then definitely dispense with it.

The one attached to pipe work on manifold side, no stats under header tank/heat exchanger .I realize running below
optimum temps is not ideal just the hassle of topping up to get system full after work has been carried out.
Nick. (will you be at the rally on Saturday)

You won't be doing the engines any favours if you remove them.
