Original fibreglass Spearfish
We have just sold our Swordsman 40 ( if the new owner is not a member I will give him a membership form) and as we live on the edge of the Hamble I am looking for a good original all fibreglass Spearfish. I know Berthon have one that has been for sale in the South of France for a very long time, but cannot find any others. Is anyone aware of other all fibreglass Spearfish boats for sale? Many thanks.

Sabre Perkins are very smoke free and Ford Dovers are not bad Very few Spearfish have SMOKEY engines now.
For perfection join the Cummins Project.
When I was looking I thought boats for sale at "the going rate" would still need money spending on them and decided with what are old boats that I could modernise a scruffy one for the same money. Only though if I did most of the work myself.
I think on balance though that this is the best Fairey, but not as lovely looking as the wooden ones. I guess Tarquol is thus the very best Fairey. Only a personal opinion I hasten to add.
Good Luck

I don t think installing rebuilt Cummins engines is un pure. You have to consider who designed them and their lineage. More importantly is the availability of parts. A Fairey boat with Cummins subject to all other factors will be at the top of the value tree. The Cummins project with Paul and Scott is a brilliant and economic way forward.
