Re: cinderella
Lovely boat, I saw her at the 2018 London Boat show.
Why the Cinders tag ? I thought Cinderella was the outboard and the Carefree was the inboard ?

Re: cinderella
Hi Pete
There is only evidence of one Carefree being built - that was with the unusable Fairey Drive.
AVB drew up a sketch of an inboard unit based on an Albatross, maybe the first boat was modified, but we don't know if any others were actually built.
One of the advantages of the original Fairey Drive was its length, allowing for a second bench seat for small people in a longer cockpit, though much tighter than the Cinderellas with outboard well.
Nice boat even if she did most probably start as a Cinderella...

Re: cinderella
many thanks Charles, "Penny Too", although an outboard boat appears to have some decent timber bearers going forward to pick up an inboard.
Certainly the transom is nowhere near man enough for good sized outboard motor, ive had a poke around !!

Re: cinderella
You'd think i would have learnt my "wood lesson" !
Love em , a cup of tea and biscuit break from Charleston, just a little poke around with my screwdriver, ooops the 50 horse Thunderbolt has worked her magic, the transom is completely shot and rot has worked its way up the laminates, probably due to the transom moving/flexing, but strangely we seem to have a stack of agba, preffere Glue and lots of ply left from some other quick job.
PS,
sssscchhhh, Charleston just about ready for some top coats
