Richard James, the Honorary Secretary of the Atalanta Owners Association, has asked me to post this note...
This Fairey Duckling was built by my late father in the early 1960s. He bought the hull and the plans direct from Fairey Marine. Sadly, it never saw the water and has been stored in the garage roof for the last 60 years.
It is complete as a rowable tender. It doesn’t have mast, rigging, sail, dagger board or rudder blade but has the rudder mounting ready for a blade and tiller.
As seen in the photos, it is beautifully made with hand crafted laminations in the corner pieces and would make a fantastic tender for a classic yacht or motor cruiser, especially a Fairey.
