Good evening all,

I wonder if anyone knows of the history of the Triana Tropica currently listed on Boatshed IoW.

I'm looking to arrange a viewing and will ask many questions of the current owner (they may even be here somewhere), but it's always interesting to find out from other angles. Any useful nuggets of what to look out for? Twin 5.7l petrols will I expect, be quite thirsty...

Also, does anyone have any ideas on what trailer would be appropriate for a Triana 25? Currently my Sunseeker Mexico 24 (for sale, if anyone is interested) sits nicely on an Extreme 2600, but I suspect that might not be quite big enough.

A follow up question, after some digging, I'm finding it quite hard to find any information on the Triana 25 / Tropica, and the differences. The internal layouts are obvious. But... dimensions / displacement less so. Is the Tropica significantly larger? Can it be road transported like the 25?

I appreciate this is a Fairey forum, but hoping there is some knowledge of these boats being of a similar vintage.

Some advice on trailing is on the adjacent trailing a huntress post. A Tropicana with stern drive will be much easier to support than a huntress with shaft. Knowing the weight capacity of the trailer is key and the weight of the boat. Also need to be able to adjust the trailer for the individual boat. Feel free to get in touch if you want to discuss. I am in mid Hampshire if you want me to look at the trailer.

Update, Boatshed says the Boat is 3000kg. This will be tight for a road trailer as it will have to weight less than 500kg and have a Max authorised Mass or GVW of 3500kg. Of course, someone in the club may have a different weight for the boat which may or may not help. For Hampshire trips I can help with a tow vehicle if the trailer is the right spec.
