Re: Red Diesel
Probably going to get shot down in flames...
But from a boating point of view and I stress a boating point of view that is about the only good thing that has come out of Brexit.
Whilst it isn't going to impact on older boats such as Fairey boats the VAT situation on boats has become a complete nightmare.
If you move a UK VAT paid boat now to European waters for a period in excess of a couple of years you have to pay VAT in Europe..

Re: Red Diesel
Yes it’s a problem, got a good friend of mine that had taken his Marlow 36 across the pond and it’s now laid up in Granada, he went out 2018 and now it’s stuck out there. He wasn’t able to get out there last year and it’s looking a bit hit and miss for this year, his already had 2 flights cancelled. On top of all this has got the VAT situation looming. However it looks like the VAT threshold is being extended by another year according to what I read in Motorboat and yachting.

This is most welcome news indeed! I'm sure we were all hoping this might have been on the cards, but good to see it is actually happening.
