A few Fairey locations

Post by Firefly »

I think it’s always interesting to know we’re boats are.
So here is a few update ones I know.

Yoshiko. The aft cabin Huntsman 31 is back in action in Salcombe.
The boat was ashore in Island Street for some years being restored

Furious. The Last Swordsman 33 is in the shed at Baltic. All
restored. Kept at Mayflower Marina in Plymouth.

White Swordsman is ashore at Mayflower. For sale I understand,
but I have not seen it advertised.

Chasseur. The outstanding H28 is afloat at the mouth of the Dart.

Marlin Express. The Spearfish is Ashore at Baltic. The boats
superstructure has been refinished, at it will soon be
back at Kingswear. Looks really fine.

Xalon. Swordsman 33. Rather further afield. The boat was at York Marina
but now sold. Where will it go? One of the very best in my view.

Are there any boats suffering neglect. I think there should be a
Fairey boats at risk register, like listed buildings.

Hi David,
Thanks for the information...I have updated the master FOC boat archive spread sheet and loaded it to the member area of the web site.

Please keep these snippets of info coming, either via this forum or the FOC WhatsApp group the more info the more up to date the spread sheet becomes.

Note the FOC boat archive list can be filtered giving a boat status: Alive and Well / Poor / Lost / Ashore / Not Known

Thanks again Mark

Mark
There is a gathering of boats at Foulkes as usual. A couple of sad 31s
The aft cockpit Swordsman, is it Cyrano, being restored,
and the very very sad Swordsman. Or there were.
Are the 31s known. Seajay of GOREY may be one.

As is the Spearfish no 15 Firefly with a new owner.
